Four friends meet over tequila in one Mumbai bar to talk about sex, work and each other; Prime Video's first Indian original with an all-female lead cast.
Four women who met by chance in the washroom of a Mumbai bar called Truck keep meeting there over shots of tequila. Damini Rizvi Roy is an investigative journalist with a news start-up. Anjana Menon is a lawyer and a divorced mother. Umang Singh, a personal trainer from Ludhiana, is bisexual and has not told her family. Siddhi Patel, the youngest, is the daughter of a rich family whose mother shames her about her weight while hunting for a husband for her.
Damini fights her start-up's board, writes a book that is banned, and becomes pregnant by Dr Aamir Warsi while falling for Jeh; she loses the baby. In the third season she runs a politician's campaign, cheats on Jeh, confesses, and decides she needs to be alone. In the last she starts a podcast with her brother, Ash, weighs freezing her eggs, and in Goa finds her way back to a newly single Jeh.
Anjana ends the first season under arrest, after crashing her car while driving drunk with her feverish daughter, Arya, and her ex-husband, Varun, threatens to take custody. She is belittled by a misogynist boss, gets involved with a colleague, Shashank, who lied that his marriage was open, and later lets Varun, who has moved back in, return to his new partner. In the final season she falls for Rohan, a neighbour at her co-working space, chooses him, and takes a sabbatical to ride across India.
Umang falls for her client, the film star Samara Kapoor. When the tabloids out Samara, Umang comes out to her family at a matchmaking dinner. Samara, who has bipolar disorder, leans on her, then proposes, and Umang ends the relationship at the altar. She opens her own fitness studio, wins her father's acceptance, and in the final season finds closure at Samara's wedding.
Siddhi works secretly as a cam girl and is blackmailed by the father of Mihir, the man she is seeing. She finds her voice in stand-up comedy, loses her father, wins a place on a comedy course in New York and tells Mihir she loves him. The final season opens with their wedding; her stage jokes about the marriage and a viral sketch partnership with Ash nearly end it, until they find each other again in Goa.
The series closes on the four friends together, calling for four more shots.

Damini Rizvi Roy’s story
Damini built a news start-up on her own investigations, and in the first season loses control of it to the board and a newcomer, Akanksha. She drifts between Dr Aamir Warsi and Jeh, and when she finally tells Jeh she wants to make it work, he is back with his ex. In the second her book is turned down by publishers and banned once it is out, and, pregnant by Warsi, she loses the baby just as Jeh comes back ready to accept them both. In the third she runs a politician's campaign, cheats on Jeh, confesses, and chooses to be alone. In the last she weighs freezing her eggs and starts a hit podcast with her brother, Ash, but misses Jeh; in Goa, where he is single again, she finds her way back to him.

A lawyer and divorced single mother who keeps putting her daughter and her career ahead of her own desires.
Anjana Menon’s story
Anjana is a corporate lawyer raising her daughter, Arya, while her ex-husband, Varun, moves on with a new partner. She falls for Arjun, and ends the first season under arrest after driving drunk with a feverish Arya and crashing; Varun threatens to take custody. In the second, belittled by a boss who doubts her because she is a woman, she joins the firm of Shashank, a rival she has just beaten in court, and falls for him, then learns he lied about having an open marriage. In the third Varun moves back in, she makes peace with Shashank as a working partner, and she lets Varun return to his other family. In the last she meets Rohan, a neighbour at her co-working space, tries to keep her distance, chooses him in Goa, and takes a sabbatical to ride across India.

A bisexual personal trainer from Ludhiana who swore off commitment until she fell for a film star.
Umang Singh’s story
Umang left Ludhiana, and a first love, Pinky, who married her brother, to train clients in Mumbai, and she calls commitment a jail. Then she falls for her childhood crush, the film star Samara Kapoor. When the tabloids out Samara and Samara drops her, Umang comes out as bisexual at a matchmaking dinner and follows Samara abroad; her family goes silent. In the second season she becomes the only support of Samara, who has bipolar disorder, accepts her proposal, and ends it at the altar. In the third she opens her own fitness studio, tries other lovers, finds she has not healed, and at last wins her father's acceptance. In the last, the studio thriving and her nights lonely, she panics at the invitation to Samara's wedding, then goes, and there finds her closure.
Maanvi Gagrooas Siddhi Patel
The youngest of the four, a rich girl body-shamed by her mother, who finds herself in stand-up comedy.
Siddhi Patel’s story
Siddhi's mother, Sneha, mocks her weight while hunting for a husband for her, and Siddhi starts working in secret as a cam girl. Her anonymous blackmailer turns out to be the father of Mihir, the man she is seeing, and he demands sexual favours for his silence; she hits him, the secret comes out, and her father turns away while her mother stands by her. She finds her voice in stand-up comedy. After her father dies she clashes with her mother over a new man in Sneha's life, then apologises, wins a place on a comedy course in New York and tells Mihir she loves him. Their wedding opens the final season. She turns the marriage into stage material without asking him, and a viral sketch partnership with Ash nearly ends it, until they find each other again in Goa.

Why it matters
Reviewers called the series a desi Sex and the City from the start, and the premise invites it: four women who talk about sex, money, careers and each other without apology. Amazon Prime Video's first Indian original led entirely by women, it ran from 2019 to its final season in December 2025. Its subjects are serious ones, handled lightly: a bisexual woman coming out to a Punjabi family, a divorced mother's desire, workplace harassment, body-shaming, an abortion decision overtaken by a miscarriage, a woman who does not want to be held. It drew criticism too; Autostraddle called the second season's ending, in which Umang leaves Samara at the altar, a betrayal of one of the few queer romances in mainstream Indian media. What the series keeps returning to is the friendship itself, the one relationship none of the four walks away from.
