Storyline
The whole story, ending included.
A cosmetics saleswoman becomes an influencer and learns what the follower count costs.
Seo A-ri grew up rich and was studying at an Ivy League university when her father died and the family business collapsed. Now she lives with her mother, who runs a dry cleaner's, and sells cosmetics door to door. A former schoolmate, Oh Min-hye, now an influencer, brings her to a gathering of the Gabin Society, a circle of wealthy online celebrities who pose as best friends and compete behind each other's backs. A-ri's bluntness catches the eye of Yoon Si-hyeon, a lawmaker's daughter who runs a cultural foundation and leads the circle, and of Han Jun-kyung, the head of a cosmetics company, who falls for her. Her Instagram grows fast. An anonymous account, bbbfamous, feeds her the members' secrets, and she uses them to climb until her following overtakes theirs.
At a club night meant as a truce, drugs are passed round. A-ri takes none, but she sees a club employee, Kim Gwang-ho, collapse from an overdose. Jin Tae-jeon, Si-hyeon's husband and a powerful lawyer, whose sister Chae-hee was at the party, has the death buried. A-ri launches her own brand. When Min-hye leaks the story, Tae-jeon makes A-ri the scapegoat, and bbbfamous, angry that A-ri asked who it was, turns against her and feeds a hate campaign with fabricated chats. Her business collapses. Jun-kyung, who means to testify, is nearly killed in a car crash arranged by Tae-jeon's men. A-ri disappears and is declared dead.
Months later A-ri appears in a live stream, answering comments in real time and exposing the circle's secrets one by one, Gwang-ho's death among them. When the police trace the stream, they find her friend Jeong-sun and her brother Du-seong behind it, using a deepfake of her face. A-ri is alive and planned it all from hiding. The circle falls. Chae-hee is charged with drug offences, Min-hye's attempt to leave the country is betrayed by a friend, and Tae-jeon, faced with evidence Jun-kyung has gathered, is heading to prison for the attack. A-ri then confronts bbbfamous: a spa worker calling herself Eun-chae, who listened to the circle's gossip while she worked, envied and hated them, raised A-ri up and then tore her down. Cornered, she tries to take her own life and survives, to be charged once she recovers. Jun-kyung, recovered, finds A-ri again. The public waits for her to come back online. She does not.

Why it matters
Celebrity is about the attention economy and what it does to the people who live inside it: bought followers, staged friendships, counterfeit luxury and a pecking order that decides who counts. It is sharp on how fast an online crowd can be turned from worship to hatred with a few fabricated screenshots, and on how the rich can buy silence when a man working their party dies. Its most unsettling figure is not the lawyer with power but a spa worker nobody notices, who listens while she works and whose envy becomes the engine of a harassment campaign. The series treats online abuse not as a side effect of fame but as something that can push a person towards death. What it leaves open is whether a person can be watched by thousands of strangers and still be known by anyone.
